SOLD OUT | Introduction to Camellia Sinensis: A Tea-Tasting Workshop with Angie Parker of A Cup of Kindness Tea

Tea, cookies and good company: join Angie Parker of A Cup of Kindness Tea Company from Bainsville, Ontario, for a special tea appreciation workshop at Indigo Hill!
Did you know that all true teas come from the same plant? The leaves and leaf buds of the Camellia Sinensis plant are used to produce tea. The flavour of teas will vary due to where in the world the tea was cultivated and what method was used during production. Angie will guide you through tasting several different teas, starting with white tea and ending with the darkest, pu-erh. In this class, you will be equipped with a tea flavour wheel and professional tasting set for comparative tasting. You’ll leave the workshop with a newfound appreciation of the camellia sinensis plant, the ability to pick out the subtle flavours of different teas, various sample bags of Angie’s teas for future brews at home, and a reusable A Cup of Kindness tote bag!
Note: All of the teas that you will sample during the workshop and that you will take home are certified organic loose leaf. Please bring along a travel mug so that you can take away a freshly brewed hot tea to enjoy once the workshop is over. We’ll also be serving cookies after the workshop to make the afternoon a real tea party!
About the instructor: Angie founded A Cup of Kindness Tea Company in 2020 after attending the Toronto Tea Festival and renewing her admiration for tea. She is currently taking courses to become a certified tea sommelier. Visit her website here
