SOLD OUT \\ Silkscreened Tote Bag Workshop with GROAdesign

Sunday, July 31, 2022, 1pm – 4:30pm

$70+hst (plus a materials fee of $20 payable in cash to the instructor on the day of the workshop)

If you’ve ever wondered how the art of silkscreening works, now’s your chance to find out! Rosie Kingsley of GROAdesign will help you screen print your own design onto a cotton tote bag, guiding you through all the steps including:

  • how to prepare a screen for printing with a desired design
  • how to apply the different silkscreening fluids
  • how to flood with ink
  • how to print and cure your finished good

In the class, you’ll have the choice of printing on an unbleached cotton bag or a black bag; you’ll also be able to choose your ink colour, with a solid colour or marble colour option.

You’ll come away from this workshop with a tote printed with your design, as well as a finished screen that you can use for future prints (usually 50) and a list of resources and tips for setting up a screen printing station at home!**

A note on preparation: You will need to prepare a design drawing (maximum 8″ X 8″) in advance of the class. If you register for the class we will email guidelines for your design. If you wish to know the guidelines in advance of registering, please email [email protected]
