SOLD OUT | Introduction to Rug Hooking Workshop with Robin Whitford
Sunday, April 24, two sessions: 10:00am – 12:30pm OR 1:30pm – 4:00pm
$100+hst (there is a materials fee of $24 payable in cash to the instructor at the start of class)
Want to try your hand at traditional rug hooking with yarn, wool and other fun fibres? Rug hooking is quick to learn but the creative possibilities are endless! In this workshop, led by Robin Whitford of Hooking Outside the Lines, students will learn about the different materials that can be used, the tools needed, and how to pull loops. The class will start with the design process and go all the way to different options for finishing your piece (you’ll have everything you need to finish at home!). The design chosen for this class – a beautiful feather – will allow students to incorporate different fibre types into their composition.
Materials for participants to take home and keep include a hoop, a linen backing fabric marked with the pattern, fibres, and a quality Moshimer hook.
About the instructor: “My is name Robin Whitford and I am a passionate textile artist, rug hooking teacher and creativity mentor. I love to share my passion for all things hooking-related with those who are curious to try new things, connect with others and create more beauty in the world. I love helping people get in touch with their inner artist (even if they don’t think they have one) and rug hooking is a great way to do that.” To learn more about Robin, visit www.hookingoutsidethelines.com
